Xiaomi 18 Pro leak: flush rear cameras, 8,500mAh Pro Max — launches tomorrow

Tomorrow night’s event is locked. The back of the phone already is.

Xiaomi has set the 18 Pro / 18 Pro Max China launch for September 23 at 7:00 PM local time. Days earlier, tipster Digital Chat Station posted live unit photos where the Leica lenses no longer poke out of the rear screen — they sit flush with it. That one detail is why these leaks travel.

Quick note: Xiaomi has officially teased the date, HyperOS 4, the dual-200MP Leica story, battery sizes, and the privacy front display. Chip names, full sensor sheets, pricing, and global timing are still rumour until the stage.

Colour chatter from leaks and teasers includes black, white, pink, and a blue finish Xiaomi calls Starry River Blue. Treat pink as tipster-led until Xiaomi shows every SKU on stage.

What Xiaomi has already said vs what’s still soft

Xiaomi’s pre-launch messaging is unusually concrete on a few points:

Pro vs Pro Max: same cameras, different tank

Reporting so far keeps the platform and Leica stack shared, then splits the phones on size and battery. The Pro Max is the “bigger than big” SKU in Xiaomi’s own positioning — and the 8,500mAh figure is the number people will screenshot if it sticks on stage.

If both land near those capacities with silicon-carbon chemistry, endurance becomes the story as much as the rear screen. That’s also why these phones will get compared hard to OPPO’s 8,000mAh Find X10 class that just showed up in China stores.

Markets still foggy

China is settled. Outside China is not. Earlier tipster notes floated Europe and other regions later, with India sometimes tipped toward late 2026. Until Xiaomi puts a map on a slide, treat every “global” claim as provisional.
